Welcome to Alchemy & Ayurveda
Find your way into the nature of reality through Streams, Threads, Stepping Stones and Paths - A guide to navigating Alchemy & Ayurveda with Chitra
Hello 👋🏽 Where does one start?
I do my best to begin any activity with a chant, mantra or prayer starting with ॐ Aum and end with Shanti, Shanti Shanti - Peace, Peace, Peace.
Peace for all beings
Peace for circumstances not under our control
Peace for circumstances in our control
Between ॐ Aum and Shanti is the mystical and alchemical calling in and remembrance of various guiding supportive energies.
I regularly chant three mantras in between ॐ Aum and Shanti as an opening and better alignment of any action, journey, course of study or interaction.
The first mantra is to Ganesha the Remover of Obstacles who brings focus and is flanked by Shakti (powers) of wisdom and discernment.
The second mantra is to the Goddess Saraswati, who is the power behind all forms of creativity, language, knowledge and wisdom.
Finally the last mantra is to the Guru principle, my teachers and innate wisdom residing within.
Opening prayers are downloadable.
Now, that the space is in alignment.
Welcome to my virtual home.
Welcome to Alchemy & Ayurveda with Chitra.
I’m so happy you the place where we harmonize spiritual and somatic patterns affecting health.
Please sit down, put your feet up and have a cup of chai. You deserve it.
Let’s chat about what may have brought you here.
Are you feeling like your soul no longer fits the life you’ve built?
Perhaps the world is moving in directions which no longer make sense?
Or maybe you are asking deeper existential questions like:
Is this all there is?
What’s next?
Who do I want to be when/if I grow up?
You may be questioning everything in your life with the acute sense that time is slipping away faster and faster.
It could be, you are simply searching for menopause support, seasonal eating, spiritual practices, nutrition, and healthy aging.
Maybe intuition and curiosity brought you to here.
However way you found yourself here, I invite you to step on any of the six paths that define my work, each path is a valid entry point.
If you live long enough it’s hard to find an elevator pitch or label as a way to introduce yourself, so I’ll start with how I came to my current world view.
I became a Doctor of Ayurveda in my early 60’s, a lifelong dream, by that time I’d been practicing energy medicine and holistic health for over 40 years and practicing āyurveda for two decades.
Four years after completing advanced studies in āyurveda with hundreds of hours in clinical work, I realized that there is more to full embodiment than spending time exclusively focused on optimizing physical health.
My work in energy medicine and medical intuition have been hidden from public view, the spiritual and energetic side of my work has also hidden in the background for most of my life.
It’s time to fully integrate.
Something happened after I hit my second Saturn return.
Saturn “returns” to the same place it was in the sky when you were born it’s a fancy way of saying Saturn’s Birthday rather than Solar Birthday.
Saturn returns to its placement at birth every 27 to 31 years. ((The path is on the eliptical so its’ different for everyone) The second Saturn return happens between the age of 54 and 62. Saturn tends to disrupt patterns that may feel like constants or ‘forever’ vows.
Saturn is primarily a deeply spiritual planetary influencer despite his reputation of being a difficult planet. Saturn pushes you towards a relationship with higher realms rather than relationships with ‘stuff’.
Once the circumstances of my 2nd Saturn return set it (Saturn is very slow), I needed to express and explore my inner world and began seeking answers to questions I asked as a little girl, “Is this all there is? Who am I? Why am I here?”
The goal of Alchemy & Ayurveda with Chitra is to share experiences of cosmic and personal patterns that influence day to day living. My writing is informed by my work with thousands of clients and decades of yoga, tantric, somatic, shamanic, spiritual, vedic practices and ayurveda.
Alchemy & Ayurveda is about learning to separate:
What is yours from what is someone else’s
Past from present from future
Personal patterns from seasonal from societal from rising kuṇḍalinī patterns
Cosmic influences on the mind and body
Distilling it all into the purest sense of the ‘I am presence’ as a Spirit in physical form.
Join me weekly with a cuppa and discover:
Ways to work with your body’s intelligence, not against it.
Practical solutions grounded in traditional medicine and yogic philosophy.
Seasonal practices for body mind and spirit.
Cat-contributed wisdom (they insist!) 🐾🐾
If you are wondering how to pronounce my name — its chih-truh, and I’ll answer to almost any combination of those sounds.
The Invitation
Explore however feels right. Wade into one stream and follow it deeply, or dip into all six and see what calls you. Let curiosity and intuition guide you. The wisdom is alive and flowing - drink from these streams to your heart’s content.”
What you’ll discover is that these aren’t isolated topics. They’re threads in a larger tapestry. The way I see it, seasonal rhythms inform lunar cycles, Shakti wisdom deepens body-mind alchemy, Ayurvedic principles weave through everything.
